What to expect?

Nowadays, leading (service design) teams is a very responsible and demanding task in both traditional and agile organisations. This four-module learning journey is designed to support current or prospective leaders in managing their broad range of daily tasks.

The course aims to enhance your leadership skills holistically, addressing these three dimensions: leading yourself, leading your team, and leading the organisation. There will be a rich blend of different formats (inspiring theory and lectures, interactive sessions, peer-to-peer reflection, self-assessments, and case clinics) to support you in working on your real-work situations. You will also be able to connect with like-minded people in a safe space and learn from the experiences of others. Every participant will be matched to another participant, his, or her "Buddy." The theoretical impulses will encourage you to rethink or develop your own leadership attitude.

What are the takeaways from this training?

  • Develop your own leadership role and attitude by applying a set of methods, tools, and mental maps.

  • Use a „Transformation Architect Tool Box and Playbook“ for leaders and know about their impact.

  • Reflect on your own behaviour through self-assessments and reflecting on real situations.

  • Learn about different theories on how to empower and motivate your team.

  • Be a catalyst for empowering your organisation to embed service design.

  • Foster an innovative and creative mindset.

  • Transfer learned models and theories to your real-work situations through hands-on activities.

  • Connect with other leaders, sharing insights and learnings in a „safe space.“

  • Become the leader that people would love to follow.

Holistic Leadership
Development

This course takes a unique approach by focusing on the three critical dimensions of leadership: leading yourself, leading your team, and leading your organization. Leadership isn’t just about managing tasks—it's about being self-aware, fostering an inspiring team culture, and driving change at the organizational level.

Through self-assessments and peer-to-peer reflection, the program helps you better understand your personal leadership style while offering insights into how to guide and motivate others. You will leave the program with a clear sense of your role as a leader and how you can shape it to benefit both your team and your organization.

You’ll be continuously connecting theory with practice, working through real-life scenarios, and engaging in self-reflection to enhance your leadership skills. The focus is not just on what you learn, but how you apply it, making the experience highly immersive and impactful.

Becoming the Leader People Want to Follow

Ultimately, leadership is about influence. The Service Design Leadership Lab is designed to help you become the kind of leader people admire and trust. Through a deep exploration of leadership theories and practical tools, you will gain a deeper understanding of how to inspire and empower your team, drive innovation, and create a positive organizational culture.

You’ll learn how to nurture a creative mindset, foster collaboration, and lead with empathy—qualities that will help you become the leader people are excited to follow.

A Practical Toolset for Real-World Challenges

The Service Design Leadership Lab goes beyond theory by providing you with a comprehensive "Transformation Architect Tool Box and Playbook" for leaders. You will not only learn about different leadership models and approaches but also be given the tools to apply these in your real-work situations.

Whether it’s improving team dynamics, fostering creativity, or implementing service design principles across your organization, you’ll walk away with actionable strategies that can be directly applied to the challenges you face at work.

A Safe Space to Connect and Grow with Like-Minded Leaders

Leadership can sometimes feel isolating, especially when you’re navigating complex challenges. One of the key benefits of this course is the opportunity to connect with like-minded leaders in a safe, supportive environment. With a maximum of 16 participants, the program offers an intimate setting for networking and collaboration.

The course also features a "Buddy" system, where you'll be paired with another participant for deeper mutual support and reflection throughout the journey. This structure fosters meaningful connections, allowing you to learn from others’ experiences and share your own insights in a trusted space.
