Roman Schoeneboom is Business Transformation & Innovation Lead at EY, as well as Certified LEGO Serious Play facilitator, keynote speaker, social democrat, avid drummer and SDN Accredited Service Design Master. With ten years of professional experience within the field of Service Design, he knows how important it is to use Visual Thinking within his work.
"I consider myself being a scribbling strategist: Empowering people & organisations through visual collaboration."
Roman joins the SDN Academy again this fall with his new course "Dare to Draw - Visual Thinking Essentials" on November 5, 2021 / 15:30 - 19:30 CET (GMT+1) (save the date to your calendar).
What to expect?
You don’t need to be an artist to master the basics of a visual thinking. It’s drawing, not rocket science. The motor skills you use to write a shopping list or sign a birthday card are no different from those that you need to draw a picture.
We’ll start the session with some simple warm-up exercises, learning about the importance of visual thinking, building your own visual vocabulary, and continue to gradually extent the level of detail and complexity in your drawings.
This course is designed for all levels, whether you are a service designer, UX designer, design researcher, experienced designer or experienced strategist. Join Roman's Visual Thinking Course and learn how to build a basic visual vocabulary, improve your drawing and design skills, get an introduction to frameworks and cover basics of people, icons, and shapes.
Participants will need:
A working webcam and enough light, to share drawings on-screen
Stack of plain A4 paper and a thick black pen
A work flow to either (a) taking photos OR (b) scanning drawings, then transferring them to your computer to upload via collaboration platform
